in a word unspoken – v2

sitting in my pew, open,
feeling a revelation, a gift,
an epiphany from God,
hearing the pastor’s reading,
of Your Word, oh God,
life, a revelation, this time…
 
hearing a word essential,
layered in richness of meaning
that which is important
in a word unspoken
in the call of holy scripture
in the words of the living Christ…
 
“Come to me, all who are weary,
all who are broken, who are hurting,
and I will give you rest…”,
but the word most important
was unwritten, unspoken
from the mouth of Christ…
 
how we come before Him,
the condition of our hearts,
that is what is matters to God,
the word repentant unspoken,
but that is what is important,
when we kneel before the Christ…
