not stone by stone
not a house, a building,
Weaving a life together
with trembling hands
thread by thread
a cord, a picture appearing,
a puzzle with no image
coming into existence
by faith, through prayer,
believing in God’s presence,
a quickening of our flesh
together, united...
 
time precious, sacred,
breathing, speaking to each other
transparent, brave when we are able,
reaching for our other
across language, time, and space...
dipping cups, drinking richly
of our faith, our belief...
God guides our steps
He has brought us together...
two flawed souls,
with history and struggle -
Redeemed by His love...
 
thread by thread,
note by note,
the image, the melody,
the cord growing stronger
abiding with You
trusting in love,
the hand of providence
the hand of the Potter,
drawing us together
drawing us to Him,
making two hearts ready
making us one...
