David carried that weight
heavy scar tissue, that darkness,
his sins against God
against his own self-interest
cleaving to the accusation
even while repenting of his sin...
 
Every sin is against You, oh God,
but also, against ourselves
every harm against others
is a harm against us too,
doubling our anguish,
what we must confess...
 
Our sins do not define us,
Our failures are not final...
We must remember our identity,
We must rise, get up,
We must finish the race before us
for God goes with us...
 
Every sin is against You,
but also against us...
Our sins do not define us
because You paid the price...
Help us to let go,
Help us to walk in Your light...
