I am commissioned

sowing life, light,

is what I am called to do

to share the words

I have been gifted

to scatter the seeds

I have been given

I am to be a balm,

not the salt in the wounds

to heal brokenness,

not make the hurt worse;

I am a flawed vessel, but,

use me Lord, use me

to do Your work.

by being too certain

I reject this

it is in my past

I want to be different

to acknowledge the truth

that I am flawed

a broken vessel;

who am I

to judge my neighbors.

letting go of the darkness

the past, the sins behind me,

moving on into the light

trusting in Jesus

hope in moving forward

into that state of forgiveness

shackles that I carried

I have created

lashing out

from the dark

wanting to mend

the broken fences

but needing God

to heal their hearts

I have ripped open

hope in God

for His grace

praying they will forgive

that healing will come
