Do dandelions have maternal instincts - v2

They greet summer, shining so brightly, yellow,
turning to white, puff balls, sowing infinite seeds,
but do dandelions have maternal feelings
the sensation, the tug, of each seed departing,
dancing, floating on the summer breeze?
 
What about the barnyard spiders, like Charlotte,
guarding their egg sacs in their season,
do they have maternal feelings
as their babies emerge, so tiny,
as they sail away on threads of silk?

passed on to descendants

close to the earth

thankful to a creator

to a nurturing world

praying to an Earth Mother

for planting, for harvest

for watering and tending

cycles in their living

for blessing on the land

staying, a home

farming one plot

living in villages

ownership, protection

walling off neighbor

claiming land as their own

passed on to descendants

My land, not yours

for my own purpose

fixed in one place

people bound to the earth
