I will love you forever,
I cannot live without you…
My life has meaning in your love,
in the words you share with me…

I love you, my heart, my world,
I will love you always, forever…
You have become a part of me,
that will never change…

My hope is only in you,
the power of your love…
I am yours, forever,
Forever, always, my love…

Channeling Taras, his essence,
Ukraine’s Bard speaking through me,
words written in cursive, in verse,
in a different cadence, a rhythm
not my own, unfamiliar,
as if from his own hand…

Finding me willing, open,
a kindred spirit,
a vessel empty,
ready to be filled,
giving to the power,
of his words, of his love…

Seeking a black-haired maiden,
his desires, his sorrows,
as one in the diaspora,
the orphan, the widows,
His true love, Ukraina,
the Kozaks in chains…

Channeling Taras, his life-force,
his words rising before me,
open to his spirit,
to his presence, his power,
His calling to me,
to once again speak…

Finding his words, his message,
captured from the wind,
the gossamer, the sky,
from the air, from the ether,
Flying from the steppes,
back to the mighty Dnipro…

Once more, he calls me,
from his far-off fortress,
from the open great grave,
in prison, in bondage,
Tormented by this war,
like his beloved, Ukraina…

Channeling Taras, the Kobzar,
speaking the words I have been gifted,
Not questioning the spirit, alive,
being his voice, his witness,
to the bravery of his people,
His nation, now fighting for freedom,
for independence from the Moskals…

Channeling Taras,
Ukraine’s Bard speaking through me,
words written in cursive, in verse,
in another cadence, a rhythm
not my own, unfamiliar,
as if from his own hand...

Did Burns sense the weight, the gravity,
the stone in my pocket that I was touching,
gathered from the shore of the loch,
The sprig of heather I would pick
for a secret, a wish, a prayer,
a shout in the Highland air
near that peated deep…

Did he feel me within his spirit,
That my heart was like his, captured,
by the cry of my siren, my muse,
like he himself and David had been,
chasing that which wasn’t his,
a kindred brother at that moment,
caught in the sands of time…

Standing in the room where he was born,
bard of my paternal ancestors,
speaking a breath-prayer to my heart
(words like none I had ever heard) …
He started me on a journey
toward my calling, my purpose,
bringing me back to God…

Генерал Мороз, Генерал Зима

No longer an ally, a brother,
The Bear will soon face destruction…
General Frost, General Winter,
has become their enemy,
the source of their sorrow,
as the lights flicker out,
freezing in the dark…

Not like in history, wars of the past,
When Winter was their friend...
Now, in this moment,
against asymmetrical war,
the vastness of Russia,
the steppes, the cold of Siberia,
General Frost will bring their doom…

Every queue for gasoline, for diesel,
Every train fuel that is destroyed,
shattering their sense of security…
Every refinery set ablaze, on fire,
new missile attacks on thermal power
Sets the stage for sorrow, General Frost,
for their quickening death…

I hear Taras’ whisper to me… - v5 #RobertBurns #Scotland #poetry #muse #TarasShevchenko #Ukraine

I keep hearing his name, his memory repeating,
Taras Shevchenko, the Bard of Ukraine,
in my mind, in my vision, my spirit,
I hear Taras’ whisper to me,
I don’t always know what he is saying.
But I long to figure this out…
I feel his pride in his countrymen,
The living people of Ukraine…

I feel a pull from his presence, his words,
in the fight for his country, their resolve,
his sorrow for his people, their struggle,
echoing deep within me, in the same way
I felt standing where Burns was born,
The birth of my original poetry…
Somehow, I sense him calling to me, yes,
As I support his homeland, Ukraine…

Somehow, I sense the writers Bulgakov and Gogol,
The Master and Margarita and Dead Souls,
entering my consciousness, my spirit…
They too want to gather with us in conversation,
something of the truth of Russia, its ethos,
to understand more fully this conflict,
nations, poets’ passions flowing,
more than what I read each day…

I hear Taras calling, whispering words
of the great grave, of freedom…
I do not yet comprehend fully,
I long to know, to understand, language,
He is calling me from my distant lands,
How can I use my words to support,
to aid, to heal his homeland,
his love, his blessed Ukraina…

why did he whisper to me? #RobertBurns #TarasShevchenko #poetry #Scotland #muse

In a moment unplanned, sacred,
a secret given form, substance
a lie came to life, alive…
Thinking about that history,
The bard became my muse
speaking across time…

Why did he whisper to me,
In the darkness of the cottage,
The bard of Scotland, calling,
In that room where he was born,
A repeating phrase in my spirit,
Unlike any in time…

I had never written verse,
I never knew I had that talent,
an accountant for fifteen years,
I had no sense of rhyme or meter,
I didn’t have a clue about cadence,
or ways to speak truth to others…

Why did Burns whisper to me,
oh, how I remember these words,
“a hope, a prayer, a wish, a promise…”
words conjured from the ether,
echoing in my body, my spirit,
wanting to give birth to life…

They were transformative, freedom,
Able to grab hold of a calling,
Sharing these words before others,
Hearing the affirmations, release
washing over me like oil,
knowing my purpose in life…

the whisper of Burns, her poet,
within my spirit, unfamiliar,
A muse of their legacy,
the bard of my people
calling me mightily,
standing in the cottage,
the room where he was born…

whispering words unaware,
a cadence, a repeating verse,
“a hope, a prayer, a wish, a promise…”
Breathing a breath prayer
a poem for another
a hope, a promise,
in the Highland air…

the whisper of Burns,
audible within me,
quickening my spirit,
a stirring within
Calls me yet,
an echo of his musings
within my chest…

life-giving spirit, the bard,
his voice mixing with mine
alive within me…
Call to me quickly
Give me words to share
whispered to me, through me,
o’er my ancestral homeland…
