A neighborhood
on their front stoops
open doors
for those who can’t afford
don’t have fans, air conditioners
foreign tongues, multi-racial
poor neighborhoods
ready for the 5th
the day the food stamps come
hungry neighborhoods
landlord neighborhoods
young children in the streets
growing too soon
in the neighborhood
alone too often
