I sat apart, in the back of the sanctuary
no roof our walls were around me
nature all around
Listening in the silence
drinking in the stillness
sitting in the pew, watching the sky
the lake, the birch cross
shimmering in July air
clear blue overhead
pines and blueberries all around
being present in the chapel
in fellowship with God
in the silence of the woods
