The timid disciples, gathered in a room
hiding in Jerusalem, in their hidden place
the mysteries revealed, shared by the risen Lord
but still not yet ready, none of them
still the disciples who ran, who doubted
who denied the Christ, hiding
Equipped for the task, the commissioning
Spirit of God, descending, filling them
on fire with the words of the gospel
freshly sprung, pouring forth
in words understandable
with confidence, vision
Speaking in languages they, we,
do not know, reaching others
where they are
equipped fully
for the work of our king
the work we are to further
during our time on this earth

Call to Worship: Psalm 104:31-33 (NIV)
Unison Prayer,
“Almighty God, Giver of knowledge and might, we come
before your throne to worship You in Spirit and truth. We
pray that your Spirit of illumination would fall upon us
gathered here today so that we may hear your still small
voice, guiding us as we sojourn through this world. May we
feel Your presence with us here today. Come Spirit, fill our
hearts this day. Amen”
