Is it their modern sense of innocence
little children, or their rank
disposable, at the bottom
in either case, whatever the metaphor
little children, in the lap of our savior
called by the master, welcomed in
coming to him, running
few assumptions, open to new ideas
unencumbered by life
unfettered by position
To be as them, listening
stopping, sitting at the Master’s feet
truly receptive
to his message of love
