Leaving their nets
the fish on the shore
their families, their homes
their lives to that day
Going with Jesus
following our shepherd
sheep of the one flock
calling to us
The hands of the fishermen
leading us to Jesus
guiding us in this walk
following like them
Sowing seeds
that we would be reaped
grain for the harvest
for the Lord to joyfully keep

With His Calloused Hands
Not a member of the elite
never sitting, studying in the Temple
working, with his calloused hands
the nets, the water, this was his life
Beginning the church, this foundation
ordinary men, laity, common
spreading the word
the truth of God’s love
to the ends of the earth
