In the coming of Jesus
a redefinition coming
understanding sacrifice
as a choice of free will
Not like the lamb,
the ram, the doves
our hands upon them
taking on our sin
Something different
profoundly important
the suffering of Christ
of his free will
Choosing to die
to offer himself
submission to God
to become the sacrifice
The lamb climbing
our hands upon him
the priest climbing
the altar of the cross
Offering himself
the humble servant
God incarnate
dying for us
