he suffered and died
he went to the grave, to the pit
giving up his mortal life
He did this for God
not to save you and me
not for us alone
Christ came to save
the whole human race
all of humanity in the dock
We are to act, to do,
to go out into the world
the gift we have received
not to be held, kept for ourselves,
to be poured out in love
