doing an evil thing

put into a compromising position
in the wrong place
available when temptation stalked him
where he should not be
sending others out
soldiers to the battle
staying back home, in safety
yet there found by evil

not where he should be
at this moment in time
home when he should be at battle
standing with his men
able to tarry
to get into trouble
relaxing at the wrong time
when kings go out to battle

giving unjust commands
seeking after evil
standing with the wrong people
within the seat of power
none there to challenge him
giving in to his desires
leading him to ruin
in that fateful hour

an abuse of his power by the king
taking what belonged to another
doing the wrong thing
because he could
another man’s wife to his bed
paying an awful price
