Like a Double Helix

The ladder climbing
repeating, uplifting
a spiral toward the sky
the words intertwining
rising, rising up

Like a double helix, our biology
the calling of God
Love God, love others,
serve the world

Building, growing
climbing up
out of the wellspring
of God’s love

Hope eternal, alive
repeating, building
rising up on wings of love
serving as we are gifted
rising, rising up
