Like Mice to the Piper – v2

In the boat with Jesus
crossing the sea, seeking rest
watching them coming
the crowds, the people
as we crossed the waters
like mice to the piper
coming to hear Jesus
needing to be fed

A familiar sight now, often
wherever we went, the crowds
when the people saw Jesus
they came running, seeking
bearing the sick, the lame
coming to hear Jesus
eager for his healing
for his teaching of the Word

A large crowd gathering
faster, running, waiting
on the shore, the hillside
No rest for Jesus, for us
the shepherd soon preaching
eager sheep, seeking
Christ sharing God’s love,
for all of God’s children
