emotions deep residing
boiling, bubbling over
taking over control, usurping,
the snake or the rodent,
my ordered mind within me
the truth of my unruly self
animals deep within me
responding without rational thought
Welling up, volcanic
some deep emotion below
not something I can quantify
because that needs my intellect
something sets them off,
the snake or the rodent,
barking dogs, their instinct
mirrors within, deciding
when it is fight or flight
