My Lamp Ready – v2
I wish I could say
that I could claim it, proclaiming
boldly, with confidence,
that my heart was prepared
my lamp ready, filled, burning
for the return of my Master
untroubled by the world
at peace ever in my spirit
anxiously waiting, ready
awake in that night
His coming in secret
when this shall be
in God’s timing alone
unknown to you and me; yet
we must be faithful
to see eternity, to be with our Master
following the path of our Savior
work to be done, here, now
to prepare for our Master
when our work here is done
