She IS a Shepherd

She has heard a steady call
to wear the Master’s sandals
to take up His staff
go out into the world
to don the clothes of a servant
become the teacher,
the messenger, a shepherd
to His flock.

She IS a shepherd,
a worker in the vineyard
bringing others the Good News,
being God’s voice,
following God’s will
moving from sheep
to shepherd,
now that the die is cast.
