Father God a Woman


God as an African woman
more mother than Father God
yet called by a name, holy
a very young, living God

Father God a Woman
not what we expected
calling us to question
the limits of our imagination
Our attempt to control God

For God is fully holy
more than we can comprehend
the perfect parent
in whatever guise we see
