His image of God
a wise grandfather
Zeus with the lightning bolts
the flowing beard
his outstretched arms
seeking to touch Adam
to infuse him with life
from the dust, the clay
as Michelangelo painted on the ceiling
the same image in his mind
probably like our own
the frozen image of God
planted in our minds
