our measure, our
reference
our Savior, the Christ
not our neighbor, our
brother
other failed humans
lumps of mere clay
slogging in dust
the mirror of Christ
our head, our shepherd
this is the measure
of how far we have fallen
how we miss the mark
wallowing in sin
It is Christ whom we
follow
our shepherd, our Savior
the light of the world
and the hope the nations
He atoned for us
taking on our sin
he died to set us free
that we may live again
