Giving Demons Power

little by little

small pains, heartaches

words spoken harshly

tamped down, held

not release, not shared

held close to the vest

secret hurt, scar tissue

added to the rest

giving demons power

darkness not light

little by little

new pains to much

lashing out, anguish

speaking to cut another

those who love us

our sisters, our brothers

giving demons power

losing ourselves
