not bound to our ears
just one of our senses
seeing a symphony
notes bursting of color
movement in the lines
in the soft tones rising
a wave, crescendo
alive with color
moving before my eyes
seeing the bright lights growing
embers to a blaze
rising and flowing

“Seeing a symphony”
series of poems based on
segment on how babies,
when they are wearing a
brain cap,
to do EEG measurements,
don’t always
have the visual cortex
light up
when they see something
but sometimes
have the auditory cortex
light up,
as if they are hearing the
image, the colors.
