Even
then, in the midst of my sin,
away
from the congregation, the body
ostracized,
set apart
judged
by my neighbors
God
there with me still
calling,
with authority
His
Spirit calling, “don’t!
Be
faithful; turn from your sin
There
when I refuse to heed your words
like
the Prodigal, willful
going
my own way, selfish
Mindful,
aware that I was wrong
yet
choosing to disobey
freedom
run amuck
no
boundaries, bad choices
lost
in excess, my sin
Disobeying
my Savior
the
voice of the Spirit
God
who descended
who
died on the cross
I
was driving another nail
like
the others, spitting in his face
