like Moses when he descended
from the holy mountain
confronting Aaron,
the people,
their golden idol
the calf an abomination
our worship hollow
as vapid as the dust
by the truth before us
so many in struggles
hurting, in pain, yet
we don’t really care
so many suffering
lost in this life
wandering in the darkness
judged unworthy by all of us
hunger, oppression
not seeing the light
we are not Christian
in the truest sense
not being the Good Samaritan
not following the path of
Jesus
trusting in God
for all the rest
