If must have been
the freezing cold waters
the newness of the needles
not feeling their texture
the sting of their poison
Please, oh please
catch it (and not wear it)
So were the thoughts
rushing through my mind
as I played
jellyfish toss
within the circle
this faithful congregation
of newfound friends,
at the edge of the sea.
Dripping goo and
stinging cells, who
knew the risks;
but we were definitely
careful, oh so careful.
Toss it gently, oh please
