the ache of their words

the ache of their words
their lost, hopeless faces
taking in their anguish
the pain they hold inside;
We see the scars, the images,
the loss of many years.

You know the damage that had been done
to those who know their pain.

only You, Lord, can take these broken
these chipped, cracked vessels
and make them whole again;
we raise up their names aloud,
unspoken, those bound by demons
held in these chains.

We pray You will heal them;
Lord, make them whole again.
