not as God planned it
from the beginning;
but for too many of us
there is truth
in the phrase
in the expression
we walk alone
in this life
oh God is with us
the Spirit within
abiding, living
under our skin;
but we walk alone
not seeking others
to strengthen, to encourage
our daily walk
how much richer
the journey together
when we share our faith
out in the world
as God intended
from the beginning
not walking alone
in this life.
