Southbound this morning
a valley of pine
perpendicular and
far down below on my right
over the bridge, beside the canopy
the treetops, down below
Ancient pines, framing a
meandering brook, hidden
in the morning fog
Black water, grey green
the walls of the valley
a picture captured
as I drive by
