In our time upon the earth
in this place where
we are planted, where we
live,
each of us needs to be
mindful
to care for the earth;
what we have been given,
tending the garden with love,
for those to come.
The earth is not our alone
to exploit,
to use up, to consume.
The world is entrusted to us
but for a short time;
To care and to nurture
to leave as much behind
for those to come.
