Christ didn’t just die
some humane killing
no painless injection
when Christ became our
sacrifice
He loved us enough
He accepted torture,
humiliation
a long slow death
at the Romans’ hands
Christ didn’t just die
as we may wish it
He suffered for us
a horrible death
