someone pisses on our joy

Someone pisses on our joy
our zeal for worship;
Someone tried to quench
God’s fire within us.

We get mad, angry,
when this happens;
We want to join them
down in the muck.

Don’t let them
blow out the Spirit;
Come, return,
to your first love.

The love of God
beating within us;
Our hope forever
love over all.
