We pause today to thank our nation’s veterans, those who
answered the call of our country to serve. We thank them for their service, for
their sacrifice, for their choice to stand in the breach for freedom. Without
them and their service, we would not be free today. We also thank the families
of veterans, and especially the families of those servicemen and women who paid
the ultimate price to secure and sustain our freedoms. We cannot overstate our
gratitude for our veterans, and those who are serving still in the dark places,
the dangerous place all around our world.
