Letting go of eternity;
Donning the flesh of mankind,
Choosing to become clay
Christ descending to life
to the lowly manger, to the
stable,
Walking these dusty streets

Leaving the courts of the Lord
for the earth here below
Though Christ is God, the
Word,
He emptied Himself, in love,
Feeling our pain, our
mortality;
Walking as a Servant of God
humbly to earth He came
