This scripture has been fulfilled

Our eyes were upon him
Joseph’s son, Jesus;
The boy we had seen grow up
speaking such words.

What could they mean
these words from the prophet
from the scroll of Isaiah
spoken by Jesus?

“This scripture has been fulfilled
in your hearing and in your presence.”
Such words we had never heard;
I could not believe my own ears.
