we have knelt at the manger
we has walked with the Magi
bearing our own gifts
oh, how we need Jesus
we have stepped into the water
we drank deep of the well
restoring our souls
healing us within
we have steeled ourselves;
but we face trials
struggles in this life
oh, how we need Jesus
Jesus fulfilled the ancient scripture
to free the captives, to give sight to the blind
to bring God’s Kingdom
here on the earth
We are those who are blind
we are the prisoners, the captives
held by chains of our own making
oh, how we need Jesus
