Ode to Cage – v2
(non-infringing silence)
Must I approach
Silence loudly
Not to infringe?
Did I steal His thunder
In church, yesterday
Inner voice, unspoken
Thought, desires
Freed in silence
In the blank space
Not the void itself
Other sounds encroach
Push through
Into consciousness
Enrich, enthrall
Permeate the soul
Hearing silence
Breathing in silence
For the sake of silence;
Thick, rich silence
A shape all its own
