Lead and wood
Fused for a purpose;
Life changes, a future,
In blackened ovals;
Shading, within the lines
Fear, struggle.
Am I right, for each question?
Does it matter?
Waiting excruciating
Success, Triumph!!!
I tried and hoped
Reaching forward;
A brighter star
Richer, fuller
Life, not surviving
Comfortable, smothered
Dreams delayed
My path found again,
Under the bramble.
Years wasted, wandering,
On a scripted path
Others’ choices
No longer mine;
Free to start anew.
