guilty of the breach
of the gap, the chasm
the space between
humanity and God
all of us are guilty
conviction in our actions
in our choices in life,
yes, we killed Jesus
as surely as the Romans
the Pharisees, the others
all who took part
in the Passion, the
story,
we are each guilty
in our words, our actions
guilty of the breach
that required a sacrifice
once and forever
for all time by Christ
the innocent lamb
the man on the cross
