Beauty we often don’t notice – v2

We are in a rush going outside,
often on our way to work, to the grind,
we don’t stop to know, to notice, to experience,
beauty all around us, wildflowers, colors,
birdsong, the clouds, the skies,
mercy of the Creator, these gifts,
grace, written on the world…

Beauty we often don’t notice,
in our rush, trapped within ourselves,
not seeing the wonder all around us,
gifts of the Creator, of creation,
of nature itself, an assurance, a vision,
in our yards, in these moments,
God writes on the world…

Beauty we often don’t notice

We are in a rush going outside,
Often on our way to work, to the grind,
We don’t stop to know, to experience,
The beauty all around us, the wildflowers,
The birdsong, the clouds, the skies,
The mercy of the Creator, these gifts,
Written on the world…

Beauty we often don’t notice,
In our rush, trapped in ourselves,
Not seeing the wonder all around us,
The gifts of the Creator, of creation,
Of nature itself, an assurance, a vision,
In our yards, in these moments,
Written on the world…

A Garden in Our Yard – v2

Nature’s beauty is all around us,
if we will see it, if we will perceive it,
A garden in our front yard, growing,
not planted, chaotic, gifted by God,
wildflowers, rising, eternal beauty...

Planted by God, a gift of beauty,
weeds to some, lacking vision,
Seeing God's hand, a blessing,
in wildflowers growing, chaotic,
in the grass of our front yard...

Shaking off the snow, the dust,

rising to the glory of summer

Birds sing up the spring,

its green shoots, the wildflowers;

Wooed from the sleep of winter,

His Palette of Autumn – v5

The rich stark colors

vivid in the season

God’s artistry so evident

in His palette of autumn

Bright lines of color

ablaze, alive, shimmering

calling to us, to see, to hear God’s call

in the autumn’s palette

Layer upon layer, living hue upon hue

all of them shouting Your praises

all of creation singing one song

to You the Creator of the universe

Proclaiming Your majesty, Your grace

showering this beauty on the world

knowing You in this season more than others

that like the leaves, in their perfection

Singing to You at the end of this life

in dying our victory, eternally

to see You in the courts of glory

new life, for eternity

On roadsides, in fields
deep in the native wood
wildflowers, up from the winter
up into the spring, the light
mayflowers, the ferns, tiny leaves
up from deep slumber, pushing through
Bearing witness, singing praises
to our God and our King
offering humble witness
to the glory of our God

yes, birds sing up the spring
the earth from its slumber
shaking off the snow, the dirt
rising to the glory of summer
birds sing up the spring
green shoots, the wildflowers
wooed from the sleep of winter
growing, up into the sun

His Palette of Spring – v2

Burgeoning, up from the ground
out of the snow, the dirt, the ice
shoots of light green, young
blessings on the earth, this proof
flowering up from the ground
called by the sun, the birds
pastels of the morning, new
dew on the new grass
bright azure above us
beckoning the dawn, calling
birds urging the rising
calling of each Spring
life renewed from winter
new life in Him
