Joy in Their Dying

A reminder of eternity
their best before their dying
the rich colors of autumn
before the eternal season

Joy in their dying
in the falling of the vivid leaves
eternity awaiting after this life
to walk with our savior
hope overflowing
like waters of a spring

For you and me, perfection
at the end of these days
walking with our creator
in the courts of glory
alive, new colors abounding

A palette beyond comprehension
far greater than this foretaste
remembering in their dying
new life will come to each

We are the leaves on the trees
growing in our season, walking on the path
hopefully in the brighter hues of autumn
before dying gloriously
garbed for eternity
for the new garden, the New Jerusalem
to walk again with God
