A Lost Sheep

For so long a lost sheep
a prodigal son out in the world
far from home
away from the shepherd
yet hearing his voice
ever calling to me
seeking me, where I was
in the wilderness
in the darkness
the dust of the earth
like the lost coin
tarnished but now found
gathered in by God
into his arms
into the hands of the creator
into the sheepfold
the family of God.
