(not the gloom of Good Friday)
We marvel, we hope, for the coming of the Lord
in final victory, for we are the Easter people
those we rejoice at the promise of the empty tomb
the fulfillment of the prophets, of scripture
the resurrection, the commissioning, the ascension
We are the people of the rising, not the death,
the sacrifice. We are the morning, not the darkness
we rise for He is risen, joyous in the reconciliation
the union with God once more,
possible because He is risen from the dead
