For his friend,
he wept
for the sisters, unable to believe in full
he wept
for the community
who did not see who he was
he wept
for the leaders beholden to the law
he wept
for this mortal coil,
he wept
But for us, he healed,
he taught, he lived,
he died
and he rose again
And for that,
we weep, tears of shame,
tears of joy
