before their fragrance bloomed
I lingered under the lilac bush
slowing my walk home from school
to yearn for their scent
to see if they sweet smell
would fall upon me
Not yet, the damp air
did not release them yet
Later today, as the sun reappears
or tomorrow no doubt
their fragrance will come into bloom
