Not by God directly, by the twelve,
commissioned by the saints, seven, like them
chosen, righteous, spirit-filled
called to serve the community, the faithful
to minister to them, providing for their needs
making sure all had their needs met
that none were forgotten, none were without food,
the essentials of life provided
by these who were anointed,
commissioned by the saints.
