Finding Christ, in the poor,
in those in poverty, in their needs, an opportunity
for us, each of us, to see Christ, in them
to reach out to our brothers, our sisters
in love, to provide them with what they need
for we have much, so richly blessed in this land
even in our turmoil, our troubles, rich
beyond the imagination of many
around the world, rich beyond our needs
our daily bread provided, gone rotten
in the hording of the manna
spoiled in the storehouses
the excess of our living
Reach out your hand, your heart
and touch the hand of Christ
