The scales shed, lifted away
eyes and hearts opened
their spirits, their joy,
awakened by His presence
there in our midst
watching over us
allowing us to share, deeply
to say painful, wonderful
important words, with weight and power
shared because He was with us
enabling timid disciples
to move a step or two
forward toward perfection
humbly accepting the grace of God
showering down on us like spring rain
