A Call for Truth & Justice About Torture
Last year, the voices calling for an end to torture rang loud in the halls of power. As an advocate for the abolition of torture, we are starting a new campaign urging President Obama and the U.S. Congress to pursue a commission of inquiry regarding torture.
The Truth Shall Set Us Free
Go to www.umc-gbcs.org/UMsDoNotTorture and sign our petition. This petition will be delivered to President Obama and members of Congress.
The petition calls for a commission of inquiry but also includes a personal pledge to educate, empower and engage others in our communities about the issue of torture and shining a light on past actions.
Let the Light Shine and set us free from our tortured past.
Peace,
